IBWO Grand Opening
“The Better Tomorrow Depends on Today’s Foundation.”
IBWO women from the United States and Australia organised a Grand Opening to share with the world how their work impacts society, and to formally launch the organisation.
Meet and greet with IBWO-USA members
For the first time, IBWO members from across the United States met in person. They had been meeting virtually and saw this as a chance to reflect on what they had achieved so far, and to share both the organisation’s work and its plans to make the world a better place. The day ended with a reception featuring food, Burundian traditional dance and a gift exchange.
Information session with the youth
Young people met IBWO-USA Vice-President Pascazia BUKURU and Director Izera MAZAMBO, along with members who had travelled from Australia, including the organisation’s Speaker, Lidia INARUKUNDO. The youth also met and spoke with the Youth Executive leaders, Dolly Ninette NIYERA and Sheila KANEZA.
The Grand Opening Ceremony
The Director officially launched IBWO-USA, followed by presentations from the executive leadership and members from different states. Powerful speakers representing partner organisations and entities addressed the guests.
IBWO Australia celebration, Adelaide
Two weeks later, IBWO members in Australia gathered in Adelaide to celebrate the launch with their own community, carrying the same message of culture, connection and a better tomorrow for our young people.
